Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a food services manager to work in one of London’s flagship hotels and oversee the restaurants, bar/lounge and conference and banqueting. As the food services manager you will be responsible to ensure the smooth running of this busy food service commercial operation. This role is perfect for someone that wants to work hard and have the opportunity for career progression with a great people-oriented company.

The requirements for this position are:

• Proven experience with running a successful commercial food service operation and delivering exceptional customer service
• Responsible to manage all food service activities for the restaurants, bar/lounge extensive and C&B
• The hotel caters for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack foods, corporate events, private functions, trainings and exhibitions
• Proven success with running busy retail food outlets while managing various functions and events throughout the venue
• Have a hands-on approach with the daily running of the food service to include working closely with the back of house to ensure the catering operation runs flawlessly
• Ability to prioritise management actions relating to catering development and to identify practical solutions to complex challenges in this environment
• Working, managing, motivating and building a successful team
• Responsible for the rotas, hiring, training and development of staff and appraisals, working with agency staff when required
• Support the GM with your financial responsibility to include; working to a tight budget, P&L, attending meetings when required, ordering, wages, invoicing, etc
• This role requires nothing less then excellent leadership, communication and written skills

Qualifications and experience:

- 1-2 year’s previous experience as a food service manager in a busy food retail environment, 4-5* hotel and conference and banqueting would be desirable
- Management and/or Food & Beverage qualifications are essential for this position
- Knowledge of the F&B industry in London would be desirable
- Excellent communication and written skills are essential for this position

This is a 7-day operation and as the food services manager, you would be responsible to the GM to ensure the business is running successfully at all times.
