Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and energetic general manager to work with a high profile contact caterer at this very busy commercial educational site in West London. The general manager would be responsible to run and oversee the extensive food service operation for staff feeding, retail and hospitality. This role requires a general manager that is hands-on, has an eye for detail, passion for food and people and wants to make a difference. The client wants someone with energy and motivation that will use their own initiative to bring great ideas and a new vision to this site.

The requirements for this position are:

Proven experience with running a successful multi-million pound commercial food service operation and delivering exceptional customer service
Responsible to coordinate and oversee all activities for the food service, retail and hospitality
Have a hands-on approach with the daily running of the operation, managing the logistics and building a great relationship with the client
Have the ability to manage the timeline and oversee the upcoming refurbishment of the food service facility
The position requires a GM the has worked in a multi-cultural educational environment and is able to manage the requirements of the students and staff
Responsible for the recruitment, rotas, training and development of a large team and staff appraisals
The role of the general manager will require full financial responsibility to include; working to a tight budget, P&L, attending meetings when required, ordering, wages, invoicing, etc
Excellent leadership, communication and written skills are essential for this position

Qualifications and experience for this position:

1-2 years previous experience as a general manager in a similar role in education is required
Management and/or Food & Beverage qualifications are essential for this position
Extensive knowledge of the educational F&B industry in London would be desirable
Immaculate presentation, outgoing, excellent communication and customer service skills are required for this highly visible position
Some knowledge of working with unions is desirable

This is a 7 day operation, working 5/7 is required.
