Job Description
We have a superb opportunity for a hands-on kitchen manager to work at a very busy commercial location in Glasgow with one of the leading contract caterers. The kitchen manager will be responsible to run and oversee this 24/7 food production site. The kitchen manager will be a key player at this unit and work closely with senior management to ensure the high standard of quality and service to customers and clients.

The responsibilities for the kitchen manager position are:

- Managing all areas of the retail food service operation to include; menus for the various food outlets, financial accountability and working to budgets set by management

- To provide strategy and innovation in line with commercial food and menu planning to improve the Company’s profile and increase revenue

- Drive sales through centrally driven menu plans and promotions and ensure compliance through preferred suppliers

- Daily, weekly and monthly menus for the food outlets

- Ordering, costings, rotas, training and development of your team and to ensure all shifts are covereddd

- To attend all daily, weekly and monthly meetings as required by management

- Adhering to all company policies and standards to ensure the highest performance and quality of food and service at this site

- Responsible for driving compliance of Health, Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH regulations

Qualifications and Experience:

- Catering qualifications NVQ 1 and 2 or equivalent

- Intermediate Food Hygiene and H&S certificates, IOSSH trained

- Previous experience as an executive or senior chef or kitchen manager in a branded high volume retail food production environment

- Successfully managing a busy 24/7 food production environment

- Excellent knowledge of working to a budget and achieving the GP

- Comply with all legal requirements; staff welfare, working time directive, staff feeding, etc

- Passionate about food and excellent customer service skills, can-do attitude
